Comfrey (Symphytum officinale) has been known since the Middle Ages as a powerful medicinal herb. Used today for bruises, inflamed muscles, and for its skin healing properties. Our comfrey is cut from the second round of mid to late season leaf growth, which contains less PAs, or pyrrolizidine alkaloids, than the roots or the first leaves of the growing season. Not considered safe for ingestion or use on open wounds.
