Which Salve Is Right for You?
Not All Comfrey Is Grown the Same Way
Every one of our comfrey growing decisions is intentional, and an integral part of our commitment to minimizing PAs while preserving everything we value about comfrey.

Certified Organically Grown
We grow every leaf of comfrey used in our salves at our USDA certified organic farm in Pennsylvania.

'Bocking 14' Cultivar
We grow only Symphytum × uplandicum 'Bocking 14,' which is naturally lower in PAs than common comfrey.

Leaves Only, Never Roots
We use the part of the comfrey plant naturally lower in PAs, the leaves. We never use roots in our formulations.

Second & Third Cuttings
Comfrey activates additional PA production in certain young leaves as its flowers develop. We allow our plants to flower, cut them back, and harvest later regrowth instead.

Gently Harvested
Leaves are carefully harvested by hand to minimize bruising and damage.

Quickly Dried
Leaves are dried promptly in a single layer at or below 100°F.
